A Tantalizing Thai Dinner Party

I'm not sure where you live, but here in Sydney, Thai cuisine is so popular that most of the suburbs at least one Thai restaurant, if not 20 have! This may seem a little exaggerated, but you get the drift - it's capital "P" for popular!

So if you are planning a dinner party at home, it is useful to your guests with a food, that to the people. Love Thai food seems to serve, is your perfect option. It's exotic, clean and bright and best of all, delicious!

Thai cuisine is known for its balance of five basic types known. Most Thai dishes tend to all these variants, if not assume the most. These flavors are:

- Hot (spicy - Chili)

- Sour (vinegar, lemon juice, tamarind)

- Sweet (soft brown sugar, fruit, peppers)

- Salty (soy sauce, fish sauce)

- Bitter (this is optional)

The great thing with Thai cuisine is that instead of dried herbs which they use a lot of fresh herbsand spices and fish sauce. The flavors are sensational.

Since 95% of Thais are Buddhists, they let religious offering of fruit at the base of a Buddha statue with burning candles, incense and the like in the restaurants. There is a calmness that that entails, as you bear witness to the scene. They are also often photos of their beloved and long in the service of the king.

You can create a new Thai place in your living room by making the smell of incense and the subtleLight softer than usual. If you do not have a light dimmer, try lighting the dining room with a few candles or lamps to create a nice atmosphere.

If you can get some Thai classical music would be nice to keep the noise - or else some other Middle Eastern-inspired music.

Thais generally do not use chopsticks to eat - and not a fork and a dessert spoon like but if you want the Touch of Asia (Thailand located in South-East Asia) feel free to provide each guest withPair of chopsticks. Imagine a wooden or bamboo place mat at the location of each guest.

As the centerpiece of your table that you could produce a long shallow dish filled with water and floating candles filled the top. You could also try to buy some exotic looking flowers. On my travels to Thailand, orchids and the like have adorned the table settings. The whole experience of eating is pure pleasure.

For starters, you can one of the most delicious soups like a hot and spicy Tom Yum Goong serve (spicy and sourShrimp soup) or Tom Yum Kai, which is similar but with chicken.

They could also serve Thai fish cakes, spring rolls in rice paper, curry puffs, satay chicken or fried chicken wings - with dipping sauce of course.

For main - stir fries, fish, Thai curries (green, red, yellow, Masaman, etc) or the popular noodle dishes like Pad Thai or Pad See Yu. Do not forget you will be served the rice in a covered bowl of rice in a central location on the table, soPeople can help themselves.

A plate of fresh, exotic fruit or a mango sticky rice dish is wonderful for dessert.

You see, there are so many opportunities for your recipe for Thai food. I would suggest checking the Internet for free recipes or get hold of a simple Thai cookbook.

Most of the ingredients you need are easily available at your local Asian specialty food store.
